Dr Ravi Deo

Dr. Ravi Deo did his MBBS from Government Medical College, Jabalpur and then went on to do his Masters in General Surgery at Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), Mumbai. As a Senior Resident at TMH, he developed a keen interest in the field of Head & Neck Surgery. This led him to obtain a diploma in the field at the prestigious Institute Gustave Roussy in Paris, France where he also worked as a consultant.

Dr. Deo established the first exclusive Head & Neck Oncology Dept. at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore in 1985. He subsequently established the Dept. of Surgical Oncology at Manipal Hospital,(1990-1997) and BGS Global Hospital (2011-2013) and currently runs a Head & Neck cancer clinic at Dr B G Rudrappa Hospital.

Here at Sita Bhateja Speciality Hospital, Dr Deo has established a ladies tumour clinic. His areas of special interest are tumours of the parotid and thyroid and ladies tumours and his expertise in these fields in unparalleled. As a Head and Neck Oncologist, he works closely with various surgical specialities (such as the departments of Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery) to treat tumours of great complexity in very sensitive areas.

Dr Deo has a deep interest in academia and has also conducted live surgical demonstrations at clinical meetings within the country and abroad. He was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award in 1996 and the Kempegowda Award in 2006 for his contributions to the field of Head & Neck Surgery in India.
